Rev. Jan (Ahjan) Grossman
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Tree of Life Interfaith Seminary: Ordained 2011 Certified Spiritual Mentor: 2012 Call of the Mourning Dove and a variety of other classes with Rev. Dr. Stephanie Rutt As a life-long learner and one of deep inquiry, I have experienced sacred studies through the Tree of Life School for Sacred Living since its inception. Interfaith courses include the Bhagavad Gita, Living Our Purpose, The Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic, Psalm 23 in Hebrew, Sanskrit Mantra, Shamanic Journeying, Meditation as the Core of Buddhist Practice and numerous others including the theology of The Call of the Mourning Dove. Each has offered its own gift. Past: early childhood educator, interpreter for the deaf, Peaceworker, Kundalini Yoga Level II Reiki certified Hospice Chaplain since 2015 AREA OF SPECIALTY I am a listener. Through deep and sacred holding I hope to assist with the inner unfurling of Love and Spirit within each, unleashing a worthy and self-assured being to serve in this world. My own issues with worthiness, surrender and self-imposed obstacles have challenged and taught me much, allowing for first hand understanding and empathy. I delight in knowing the divine that is hidden behind our humanity. I relish inquiry. Consciousness and metaphysics pique my curiosity. MY PERSONAL STATEMENT I was raised Catholic (and Baptist) in a mixed religion family, but since my childhood, Nature has been my go to Expansive Place where I have always known my Creative Source, God. Knowing Unity, I have always had a difficult time being separated and narrowed into what I perceived to be restrictive ways of structured religion. This has been my journey, to break free of resentment toward these self-perceived shackles and open to their gifts. By experiencing diverse practices and delving into sacred studies, the bonds have released. The Bhagavad Gita from the Hindu tradition particularly restored me to Oneness. Interfaith Seminary offers a safe and compassionate venue to explore some of these inner questions, quirks and longings. The honor is mine to walk with you. |
