Letter of Intent and Inclination to lean into the Seminary Directorship Feb 27, 2021​​

To whom it may concern,
Please accept this as my letter of intent to uphold and oversee the flourishing of the Tree of Life Interfaith Seminary program as Carol LaChance steps back from this leadership role.

Setting aside the large shoes to fill, I bring my heart in service to the program.

Having attended the Seminary Guide training, Seminary Guide circles, Spiritual Mentoring, and with experience as a guide myself to two present seminarians, I have an integral sense of the role and its responsibilities to the curriculum.

I apply my vows in an effort to express what I might bring to the program:

The Buddha said: “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.”

I am the thoughts that generate the world.
I vow, through the knowledge of my heart, to be attentive to their intuition and intention.The ultimate projection of and responsibility for my thoughts rest with me.

I am the eyes that perceive the world.
I vow to recognize the Unseen Essence present in all. This Sacred Essence sits untarnished in my heart, in every space; may I be a mirror for that reflection.

I am the ears that hear the world.
I vow to listen deeply with the light and warmth of a compassionate heart. Through conscious practice I listen for Truth within the spoken word and wisdom embedded in the silence.

I am the hands that caretake the world.
I vow to serve the Highest Good through my actions, my example and my creations.
In service, I vow to create a safe and sacred space for the unfolding of each human heart.

I am the Peace that longs for the world.
I vow to intercede on her behalf.

The inner journey of the Seminary rests in the witness of the thoughts that ultimately are cleansed and freed to serve the individual self, the Divine in all its Holy Names and ultimately, the world.

I give of myself freely and call upon the Shakti necessary to establish good boundaries for all. If so graced with this role, I vow to uphold the foundational mission and vision of the Tree of Life Interfaith Temple and Seminary Curriculum.
