Writing Personal Essay and Memoir as a Spiritual Practice
REV. CAMILLA SANDERSON & REV. CAROL LACHANCE Are you ready to write your story? Come join our writer’s workshop! While sitting in sacred circle, you will learn how to give supportive, encouraging, and rigorous feedback, which you will also receive from your peers and guides. We will explore writing as a spiritual practice in addition to discussing various aspects of the craft of writing memoir. Required Reading: A 7-page essay on The Spiritual Aspect of Writing Memoir will be shared before our first class, and fellow workshop participant’s work will be shared each week. Required Writing: After our first class where Feedback Guidelines will be shared, each Monday before Wednesday’s class, each participant will email their writing to the group – approximately 500 words (2 pages of double spaced, Times New Roman 12 point) to the class so everyone can read everyone else’s writing and offer feedback in class. |

Rev. Carol LaChance, M.Ed. is the author of The Way of the Mother and writes for young adults. She has 20+ years’ experience teaching gifted and talented students and is presently writing a memoir. Rev. Camilla Sanderson, MFA, is the author of, The Mini Book of Mindfulness, published by Running Press/Hachette 2016, and is in the process of manifesting a literary agent for her memoir, Treetops and the Buddhist Monks Across the Road. Both Carol and Camilla love to share their passion for writing and spirituality with others. |
